A Printer's Dilemma

From the corridor, I peep to the meeting room
Presentation onscreen, meeting turning abloom,
All have copies too, some printed with a zoom
Later all the paper copies, removed by a broom

Forced to work, all use, abuse me the whole day
Helpless I feel, always filled with paper, my tray
Stop printing I can not, the command I just obey
Wastage, without worrying on the price they pay

Silly people, at times hundreds print the test page
Setting up the print, learn not, even with the age
Some believe in filing, feel it's an utter wastage
Save paper, save trees, just show off, all garbage

Humans, their whims fancies they never withhold
"Let's go paperless", only talk, practice very cold
Feel for the trees, feel for earth, our only world
No time, let me print, the commands I can’t hold

Math

By counting numbers to maths you get in
Arithmetics first and then alphabet come in
Suddenly a mess, theta sine tan cot cosine
Algebra, geometry, in some never will sink in

A square plus B square, A plus B wholesquare
Come on people, why should we be aware?
Memorizing these, for some a nightmare
Never understand, though lot they prepare

Mathematics is simple, till comes in English
Add Roman, no math, better remain foolish
Mathematicians, many theorems they furnish
Seen integration only in books they publish

Study not, with fear, never look at it and cry
Start loving it, build a wonderful chemistry
God’s language, mean same in any country
It’s science with logic in the form of a poetry

Thank God I’m no human

Born an animal, feel secure, freely I walk
Though a cow, dear ones listen to my talk
Human, a creature think about them, I sulk
Slaughter us for meat, take away our milk

Happened to be in here, have no religion
Sex a divine act of adults, for reproduction
Performed with consent, no forceful action
Know not politics, do not have an election

The child knew nothing, what was her fault?
Shameful, some trying to justify this assault
Some senile, here, there, does a summersault
Think not, those men deserve death by default

Don’t call them animals, that for us a disgrace
In cruelty can’t compete men, we out of place
Dangerous these men, don’t go by their face
Thank god, I am not party of the human race

Happy Vishu

Got money this morning, I become richer
Spend it not, carved a way to use it better
Not looking for advice, for am no amateur
Day progressing good, turning more merrier

See angels all around, all  distributing riches
Lot on the dining table, except daily sandwiches
Could see fire crackers, kept on the benches
Elders strict not, none giving moral speeches

We make it special: Vishu, our new year day
Same will repeat the entire year is what the “say”
After feast games begin, till evening we play
At night all sleep with hopes of a better day

Fun to remember those days, celebrating Vishu
Now staying away from home, no fun, no Vishu
Envy you all those, who still get to celebrate Vishu
Will never fade away from us, our own this Vishu

Lucky me!

Was sitting on a tree branch, looking down
Saw a beautiful little girl, wearing a gown
Held a barbie, brought from the nearby town
She wore a lovely smile, her hair was brown

So adorable, could not take my eyes off her
Blinked her eyes at me, the face looked familiar
Her speech was unclear,  attempted to decipher
Wait! had heard it before, I tried  to remember

Her mannerisms reminded me of my little son
Curious I was, flew down, for a close look on
Something came my way, a very big stone
Now a Crow, couldn’t tell him, I am your  own

You offered me food, you called me in here
Now stones to scare me off, for my life I fear
I know son, you, a protective dad, she very dear
Lucky me, can  see you at will, I live very near

In Hindu religion every year on the death anniversary of parents, a ritual is performed by all their sons and daughter to offer rice bowls to the departed souls and believe if crow (totally black no grey shade) consumes the food, it is accepted by the parents.
