Lulu

A plethora of malls in here,  wife chose Lulu
Prefers shopping there to a tour to Honolulu
Can’t fathom, is it linked to being a Mallu?
Changed my life, the launch of this mall “Lulu”

At the gate she disappears, me busy parking
Looks the whole country is in here, shopping
To see her again, I start frantically searching
Call not an option, she never minds answering

Me merrily return back to the Car’s comfort
Finally, comes the call from shopping expert
Only this? Only102 bags? I ask her in retort
And put all bags in the car, with some effort

Maybe it’s for a month, So I remain silent
U-turn, forgot free gift, now “her lament”
Go back, get freebies, I admire her talent
“Lulu” forget not, rest in here all irrelevant

Selfless, always think and play for the team
For the dear ones, compromise their dream
Hold them together, move along the stream
Intuitive, assets for any, they are the cream

Casual and funny, but never are they profane
Share anything, but keep with them the pain
Sometimes talk lonely, act & look like insane
Do what they believe, even without any gain

Amazing storytellers, they drive off the cold

Pessimistic, never shows, try to act very bold

Very emotional, let's only a few to their world 

Once in, will be cared for & treated like gold 

Cannot neglect them, for they, very talkative

Stands out in the crowd, energetic and active 

Always trying to prove themselves superlative 

Cancer their sign, Cancerians the conservative

Can not stop taking selfies on the mobile phone
Humourous facial expressions, mind not anyone
Looking at own pictures, sit and adore all alone
Join, forget all your worries including the ozone

For females, a relief, the phone's selfie camera
Feels like, "so pretty, not less than a Cleopatra"
Men's act with it  shave, brush, makeup etcetera
No doubt, this is the funniest time of human era

To phone, you attach a stick, get more out of it
Right expressions captured, otherwise just edit
These cameras made many mean phones a hit
Created a revolution this, quiet now none can sit

No more an obsession, selfie now a real pleasure
Any number of retakes,  one never under pressure

It makes you busy always, no time called leisure 

Selfie camera, now, our most cherished treasure

Hallucination

Was in deep sleep, suddenly I sense smoke
Took it not seriously, treated as a mere joke
Kept hovering around me, as if to provoke
Got up from the bed, now ready for the poke

The smoke led me to a tree near my house
It went up the tree, from it a black cat  arouse
Scared a bit I was not,  for me, not a mouse
Hit with all my might, "stop" said, my spouse.

I see no cat, no tree, only remained the wife
No worry, it's a nightmare, get on with life
Was it real? deep inside me started a strife
She said, "spirits",  luckily you alive & safe

Come on, don’t be silly, it’s just hallucination
Later was playing with my two-year-old son
Looking at the tree he says “cat” with conviction
Where? I see nothing, maybe his imagination

Mangalathacha

Mangalathacha, coined the name for you fondly 

Supported our mischiefs, grandpa you dearly 

Ruled our hearts, always in it, never felt lonely

With you around, had guts, acted very bravely 

Made a lovely kids world, under an umbrella

And held it for us kids, over our small villa

Born in to it, your grandson, me, a lucky fella

Think of you, I feel it still, the love umbrella 

Fun filled stories and songs, I still remember

The- feelings in those lines, made me wonder

I sing those to my kids, but, their mind wander

Coz only words, the emotions, I can’t transfer  

Taught to be unconditional, your selfless love

Virtues in you made us better, those we preserve

Lord’s gift for us, keep you with thy there above 

 You will always  be for us “an epitome of love“

Tell her not, I listened to my own grandma

Have it, but to convey, am a bit hesitant
You may not like it, maybe bit resistant

Thank god, I live in a place, very distant
