Parked my car, & from it I slowly got out
Walking in extreme heat, I feel like a lout

Politics, it’s omnipresent, spares not anyone
Darwin’s theory put in practice by everyone

Nicely planned, before an all out execution
Manipulate system and avoid prosecution
No ethics or any intent to serve the nation
Once in to it, all start practicing corruption

Corruption, firstly ignore, later try it a little
Never do they work to their skills & mettle
 Find fault in others and make them belittle
No permanent relations, no places to settle

Politics, play it fare and keep it very simple
Pay attention to the motive, not on the pimple
Rely on talent and the skills, set an example

Food plenty-for lucky, none for some
Many waste, though per choice it come
Taste, the reason for "wastage syndrome"
Not at all funny, an act very gruesome

Those days never from mind can abolish
There were rivers where in we use to fish

And mommy cooks us very  tasteful dish

End up over eating, eat more and more food
Why take than neededr? act never understood

GETs were we, all our seniors made us feel warm
Awesome was our team, created no fuss, no harm
Etched up in my mind those nights of false alarm
Memorable days at the Reliance Marine tank-farm

Youngsters were we, needed guidance to check in
Samir, Kailash, Prashant, Borah, Choxi & Maulin
Taught us the ways of operations, and how to fit in
Spared us from the hiccups, for they always jump in

Bhatji’s answers immediate, Don’t bother it’s false
Vyasji always had doubts, says it’s something else
Message first, faster than alarm Rupesh’s impulse
Mehul says, let’s take a break &increases my pulse

Naik, Joshi, Gupta, they were made for each other
At times  pleasant to ears, voice of SP, Kate, Kelker
Those moments, will I get back? quiet often wonder

EMIs, their life's part, the way banks take back money

Some never enjoy their work, they do it just for money

Straight, crooked, hard, have many ways to make money

Tax, too complicated, the way government makes money

Never learns from mistakes, repeat for the sake of money

Never realize everything in life isn't measured by money

Easily said than done, to live in here, one requires money

Make some, else your dear ones say, "honey, its all money

No right, no wrong, this world will do anything for money

Kids, awesome are the skills, master it in no time
Amazing their observations and learning regime
Surprise us now and then, by words and by mime
Gradually, they grow big to be your life's prime

Welcomes me back home with an adorable smile
To seek attention, the little lad goes an extra mile
Learns very fast, always shows off his guts, wguile
Spend time with him, a stress-free act worthwhile

Cannot teach a kid anything, they teach you instead
They, the god sent, to teach us the qualities we need
Test all your limits, your patience, and the cool head
Take many a lessons  from them, permit them to lead

Worried about their future, forget to see the present
Enjoy the moments we cannot, miss their act nascent
Set  criteria to bring them up, all of their life’s ascent

Feels like it is plenty, evanesces suddenly

June nostalgia

June brings in, nostalgic thoughts very cool 

Restart of the rains,  reopening of the schools

Natural were those, the rain made water pools

Jumping in and out of rains, we acted like fools

The first day of rains, pouring from the skies

The first school day, tears flowing from the eyes

Just sweet memories those, fastly the time flies

Etched inside, lovely past, can't say goodbyes

With an umbrella to fend off the rainy showers

Run to school through fields, plains & rivers

To reach on time we race with all our powers

The thought of teacher's cane sends in shivers

Beautiful were those, the golden old days'

Life was lived very simply, no crooked ways

A look again at the world through the child’s eyes
May bring back again those awesome old days

In Kerala, my land, the school reopens on June 1 every year
and that is exactly when the rain arrives.
