Past Perfect

Thank GOD, I was born in the late seventies, lucky enough to see the world progressing along with us. Our childhood was awesome. We experienced life without technology and with technology

Solitarily watched the moon, the star
The twinkle and the joy nothing at par
Lightning thunder, clouds were at war
Lived on the milky way, never was it far

Fresher mornings, no chaos no clutter
Respectable were the words we utter
Life simple, no much fuss nor glitter
All were taught, to be humans better

All our "lies" had innocence and charm
The neighbors' invites were more warm
Our parents remained poised and calm
Future more clearer, right on our palm

Vanished forever, rabbit on the moon
The flora, the fauna to follow it soon
Twinkle and joy now from the cartoon
We busy in search of the silver spoon

Shepherd

Shepherded village cattle, in woods I stray
The cattle followed, grazed the whole day
Gentle breeze, fell asleep, in comfort I lay
Return I couldn't, lost at dusk, left far away

Darkness, petrified even the slightest sound
Lost in deep woods, way back never found
Turned menacing, our familiar playground
Frightening, the absence of light all around

Village a yard away, lost- stranded I stood
Beautiful, the pond, river, trees & the woods
Fifteen cattles, care fifty beings livelihood
Penniless, loved each other, all liked it good

Rooster's call, woke up with the only star
Light rendered, the whole village at an altar
Hugs, kisses, seek all attention, neglect the star
Unconditional love, emotions- the mortar

Spared none the forest, the belief- I crack
Cradle of motherland, safe all of its tracks
Shepherded cattle, they knew the way back
Leader sleep not, for yet another day I pack

About my village and its people. I was born in a very remote village and even to this day it remains so. My beloved wife who was born and brought up in a city cannot sleep when she is at my village home, because she is not fond of the lullabies by the Crickets.

The only development in the village those days were the state highway which ran across the village and the forest. There were 15 houses and 50 people in the village.and our livelihood was from some crops and some cattle. All of us were well connected in such a way that, if somebody fall sick it was the worry of the entire village and the rest 49 were ready to do any sacrifice to bring back normalcy. We kids never knew our religion, we only knew that for some festivals we should eat from some houses and for another from some other houses and for some celebrations food is served by us.

So  it was our duty to take care of the cattle, so we used to take turns in taking the cattle for grazing to the forest and brought it back. The forest was with its on danger. People used to sight Leopards, wolves and foxes. So there was a standing instruction to whoever shepherded the cattle to bring back the cattle by 04: 00 PM. That day it was my turn

Nameless Bother

Alluring gardens, lush green fields
Flaunting the beauty flowers yield
Stood there in sun, a tree her bield
Held a cloth across, her sun shield

Small shiny eyes, pretty bluish pair
Beautiful face, smooth and silky hair
All attracted to her glow, like flies to fire
She adorned an attitude “I don’t care”

Control not sight, the whole day long
Her voice so sweet, a melodious song
In me a fondness; nothing wrong
Forgot purpose, the space I belong

       Switch off nerves, aptly self-assure

Seizure in just an instant of  leisure

Forgo the faith for flash of pleasure

Feel from inside -"a minute" fissure

Visible not the connect the crave
Feeling her in the wind, the wave
A nameless  bother till the grave
The earthly strife, for later we save

Immortal

Wished me Immortality, out of his blind love
Special qualification, for it we all secretly crave
Die to live in many hearts, virtue much above
Can't be gifted, one's lifetime deeds do achieve

Some immortal  beings, to forget them we strive
Thoughts on their lifetime deeds, crazy it drive
They immortal, the insane acts made them thrive
Though hatred, in all of our minds they still alive

Hitler, Caligula, many more such men and women
Corrupts, the acts named after these specimen
They different, those ladies, not so gentle men
Why pay extra attention? questions my acumen

Some other immortal beings, the epitome of love
Gandhiji, Mandela, many more brought white dove
Inspire their lives, from our hearts none can remove
Never will fade away, forever in us they shall live
